Home Birth - Back By Popular Demand!Welcome! Community Midwives, LLC is a modern maternity service committed to the timeless tradition of birth at home with a community midwife. This century is seeing a renaissance of midwifery in many parts of America. In 2001, Wisconsin Certified Nurse-Midwives won autonomous practice and authority to write prescriptions. In 2007, midwifery licensure was expanded to all credentialled home birth midwives in Wisconsin. In 2008, the first school for Certified Professional Midwives opened in the state. For many of us, the return to traditional pregnancy and birth options is part of a larger movement toward locally empowering, accountable and sustainable choices. We want to know and be known by the individuals with whom we choose to share our most vital life processes. As a healthy pregnant woman, you too can discover the power and joy of birthing in the intimacy of your own home with a community midwife.
